Muga Valley Hive, Albanya, Spain

This Changemaker Experience will coincide with the initial phases of an ambitious public/private project focused on sustainable, optimal water use through the regeneration of the Muga River Valley’s ecological, economic and social landscape over the next 20 years. It’s all about H2O.
Changemakers aged 8-16 will immerse themselves in learning how the valley’s interdependent natural systems work as well as humanity’s role in them.
A younger sibling group can be arranged with a supplemental cost and based on demand.

Family Survival Adventure, Dominican Republic

Disconnect from modern life and reconnect to yourself, your kids and nature's rhythm. We will spend 5 days and 4 nights camped out by the river in the wilds of Dominican Republic. We will build a camp and live off the land for a week. We'll rise with the sun and rest when it sets, forage for food, cook over a campfire and live barefoot like our ancestors. If you'd like to bring some comforts you're most welcome. You can bring a tent, sleeping mat and necessities, or you can rewild entirely!

6-week Hive Changemaker Adventure, Dominican Republic

Our classic, 6-week Changemaker Program runs three times per year. "We all know that we face big challenges in today’s world: poverty, hunger, inequality and climate change are just some of the issues we need to address urgently.

Big challenges need bold action to overcome them, and that is where the Global Goals come in. They are a plan agreed to by all world leaders to build a greener, fairer, better world by 2030, and we all have a role in achieving them." At The Hive your family will become active participants in designing and executing their own ideas to contribute to the Global Goals and leave a legacy of change. You will all become changemakers equipped with the skills, knowledge and relationships you need to be the change you want to see in the world. Cost per child is $1395 for our Hive Essentials Package (no bus, no food, excursions PAYG) or $1875 all included. (includes daily activities 8.30 - 2.30 Mon-Fri). Hive Practitioner Training, Dominican Republic

Are you looking to homeschool, unschool, worldschool or have an interest in independent, progressive education? Then this immersive, 5- day Human Hive Learning training is for you. We will dive deep into what it means to be a self-regulating practitioner. We will learn how to self-regulate and co-regulate so that we can support those around us to become well-regulated, grounded, confident learners and human beings. We will look at the research and theory underpinning self-regulation and self-regulated learning, design co-regulating activities and put them to the test with the local & Hive community. It's a fully experiential week. You will learn new skills, make new friends and leave with a more well-regulated nervous system.

18+ Changemaker Adventure, Dominican Republic

Are you over 18, intrepid, adventurous and looking for something extraordinary to experience? Do you care about people and planet and want to make a difference in the world? Do you want to meet other people with drive and passion similar to yours to make a difference with? Then come to The Hive and put your passion and ingenuity to work designing regenerative solutions to global challenges. “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” Buckminster Fuller. Spend a week with The Hive team learning how to be a changemaker. And then stay for up to 6 weeks, discovering the area, meeting local people and seeing first hand how global issues affect people and nature on a local level. You'll learn to self-, and co-regulate, build relationships and take action with, not for others. We will support you to figure out the best way for YOU to be the difference the world needs. Ocean Heroes Adventure, Dominican Republic

"Healthy oceans and seas are essential to our existence.They cover 70 percent of our planet and we rely on them for food, energy and water. Yet, we have managed to do tremendous damage to these precious resources. We must protect them by eliminating pollution and overfishing and immediately start to responsibly manage and protect all marine life around the world." Over three weeks we will learn how to care for mangroves, rivers and oceans and become Ocean Heroes.

Nature Heroes Adventure, Colombia

" A flourishing life on land is the foundation for our life on this planet.We are all part of the planet’s ecosystem and we have caused severe damage to it through deforestation, loss of natural habitats and land degradation. Promoting a sustainable use of our ecosystems and preserving biodiversity is not a cause. It is the key to our own survival." UN

We will meet real-life nature heroes; local people working in regenerative ways to protect and restore the eco-system.

From the Kogi people, an ancient civilisation still living in the Sierra Nevada to local environmentalists, we will be inspired by their work and come up with ideas of our own to be a nature hero.
