The Human Hive is a global movement of people and organisations working With NOT For each other to train and empower 8 million ChangeMakers by 2030.

OUR MISSION

At The Human Hive, we believe that ChangeMaking goes hand in hand with regeneration. The best way to take action and make real, lasting change through regeneration at three different levels. We believe in regenerating People, regenerating Place, and regenerating the Planet.

We are experts at forging links across communities that have been divided, and building skills, knowledge and positive relationships through

shared learning experiences. Our members grow by supporting others to grow alongside them.

We support ChangeMakers in Education, Organisations and Activism and work with schools, universities, community groups, the arts, businesses, NGOs and public services, volunteering organisations and the general public - any organisation or endeavour wishing to harness the power of people to solve collective problems.

We'll help you to discover your unique contribution, provide you with the know how and resources for success and connect you with amazing, like minded humans from around the world.

OUR STORY

The Human Hive was founded by Darren and Kate in 2015. We started this journey together because we wanted to offer support and stand in solidarity with people going through crisis as they travelled from places of war to find sanctuary in Europe.

After asking ourselves "what can we do to help?" we had this crazy idea to turn an old school bus into a school. The idea was that this bus could be taken into the heart of the Jungle refugee camp in Calais and support the people there with an education project.

From here, we started Crisis Classroom - an idea that we co-constructed, with our whole approach with the idea of helping people take charge of their own lives by working together with others to share skills, forge relationships, and decide their own destiny.

We evolved into The Human Hive - an organisation that works With NOT For people to help collectively solve global problems facing people and planet today.

In 2020, Kate set up our very own ChangeMaking space called The Hive which is located in the Dominican Republic. Together, we are working globally to train and empower 8 million ChangeMakers by 2030.

Darren Abrahams

Co-Founder - Wellbeing Lead

Darren Abrahams is a singer, coach, trauma therapist and trainer working internationally as a facilitator and project leader in the fields of personal, cultural and community development.

Kate McAllister

Co-Founder - Education Lead

Kate McAllister

Kate is the principal and founder of The Hive Cabrera and co-founder of The Human Hive. She is a passionate educator, published author, fellow of the Chartered College of Teachers and The RSA.

Natasha Gates

Social Media Manager

Natasha Gates is the social media manager for The Human Hive and handles all of our social media. She is a postgraduate with a Masters from The University of Sussex.

Sophie Dean

Finance & Operations Manager

Sophie Dean is our finance wizard and keeps everything at The Human Hive running smoothly.

Megan Bay Dorman

Podcast Producer

Megan is an award-winning presenter and producer, working across primetime broadcast television, online video content and podcasts. She produces and edits the Human Hive podcast, and next season will also become our presenter!

Zangi

Trainer - Music/ChangeMaking

Zangi is an award-winning singer/songwriter of "Kenglish" music that brings together elements of both English and Kenyan music, where Zangi is from. Zangi is also a talented producer and gospel singer.
