6 WEEK CHANGEMAKER

WELCOME CHANGEMAKERS!
Our classic, 6-week Changemaker Adventure runs three times per year, between November and April, and is our most popular program of all. Children aged 4-16 design and implement solutions to global challenges together.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
- Margaret Mead

If you want to raise a confident, competent young changemaker, The Hive team want to help you!
WHY CHANGEMAKER ADVENTURES ?
WHY THE GLOBAL GOALS?
Big challenges need bold action to overcome them, and that is where the Global Goals come in. They are a plan agreed to by leaders to build a greener, fairer, better world by 2030, and we all have a role in achieving them.
At The Hive your family will become active participants in designing and executing creative ideas that address the Global Goals and leave a legacy of change in the local context.
You will all become changemakers equipped with the skills, knowledge and relationships you need to be the change you want to see in the world wherever you go to next. Cost per child is $1875 (includes daily activities 9.00 - 3.00 Mon-Fri, bus to and from The Hive, 2 meals per day, Kangen water refills and swimming). There are lots of social events and family excursions available, download the pack for all the details.
Bursaries are available. Please email sophie@thehiveadventure.com for information on how to apply.

WEEK 1 - PREPARATION

Self-regulation underpins everything we do at The Hive. Learning the mechanics of how our nervous systems work gives us insight into human behaviour and a framework for managing our own. This helps us to learn better, to relate better and to make change that sticks. Being able to effectively self-regulate feels like a super power. For children and their parents! We take the time to learn it and practice it so that we can become effective Changemakers together.
WEEKS 2 -5 DESIGN & IMPLEMENTATION

We have something called the 'so what' test at The Hive. We ask 'so what difference will that make?' all the time. What difference will that action or understanding make to you? To others? To the planet that we all share? The projects that your children design address global challenges and leave a positive legacy of change in the local context. And the skills and knowledge they develop can be applied again and again wherever their curiosity and passions lead them in fuure.
WEEK 6 - IMPACT EVALUATION

During week 6 the children make presentations detailing what they have learned. They'll describe their learning journey, present their inventions and ensure that the skills, knowledge and relationships they have developed can be spread beyond The Hive and your family. Like bees sharing their honey with us all.
A Hive Adventure is so much more than a hub for worldschooling families. It's an unschool for changemakers where we learn to better care for ourselves, others and the planet.
